Moving through the last shoots for The Skin Deep Sessions and prepping the show. Yes, this is a naked woman; apologies to those who confuse the difference between the sacred and the profane, I have no wish to offend - but I would say, if this looks like "porn" to you, you probably don't get out enough...

If this is the first you've seen of the project, there are a few more images below, of a more PG variety. In the end the show will comprise about twenty models - all ages, shapes, sizes, both genders, some couples, heck, maybe even a group before I'm finished...

Rubicon's next play is the hilarious tear-jerker made famous in a star-studded feature film of the same name. I was fortunate to photograph the cast last week in L.A.

The uploader seems to have squashed the image for reasons only clear to it... oh well!

Beautiful Disaster

Back in the fashion business this week, with Beautiful Disaster, a local clothing brand from husband and wife team Tory and Christie DuVarney. Check out www.BDRocks.com.

I cast the job from Model Mayhem, and for the first time, casting was a smooth breeze that yielded a couple of super-hot pros -- Kyara Tyler and Tina Marie. Kyara came up from Los Angeles, while Tina's local to Ventura. Hair and Makeup by the marvelous Eric Reyes, and invaluable assistance came from Susan Compton-Smith on Day 1, and Cami Scolari on Day 2.

I got a wild hair up my creative impulse today -- here's the result. Actually I had the idea in mind for a while, I was an odd sight at the busy intersection of Seaward and Pierpont, grasping that stop sign. That's a nice wide open intersection-- it offered just the open view of clouds and sky I had in mind...

Of course, I needed some help dragging the giant notebook paper into the road- the many motorists were not amused. ;P

A beautiful Saturday morning at the Farmer's market. This is community-- people out in it, participating in it, enjoying it. Such a pleasure to hang around and just capture of few of those simple moments.

The studio look...

Shooting in the "studio" doesn't have to be about expensive commercial or industrial buildings, and a lot of equipment -- it's as simple an idea as controlling the light and creating another background in a given space. This shot was taken in my garage, a large piece of black cloth suspended behind me, a single bright light shining through a white umbrella to my left.

A good image is a matter of intention -- it's one of the things I really dig about photography.
